In early October 2026 we spent three days travelling through Champagne with Celine. In Reims we visited Veuve Clicquot; in Épernay, Mercier and Esterlin among others. This is our trip, plus what to arrange in advance.

01 / Our trip
Three days of bubbles, at Celine’s pace.
Reims.
At Veuve Clicquot, Celine posed in front of the yellow sign. On the terrace of Café Clicquot she sat in her bag on a yellow chair while we tasted.
Épernay.
We walked with Celine along the Avenue de Champagne, past the great champagne houses. We stopped at Mercier and Esterlin; at Esterlin Celine sat on a little table for a moment, next to her lead.
In style.
Celine wore her orange leather collar and lead by Laelaps Paris. They matched the autumn colours of Champagne perfectly.

What to arrange before Champagne with your dog.
- Ask each house. Whether your dog can join a cellar tour, a tasting or the boutique varies by champagne house. Ask when you book.
- Choose a terrace. We sat outside with Celine, on our lap or in her bag. That worked well everywhere.
- Bring a carrier bag. For a small dog, a bag is handy in busy spaces and on the cobbles of the old streets.
- Book ahead. Tours and tastings at the big houses are usually booked in advance.
- Accommodation. Ask about the dog policy and any fee when you book.
