A day on the PC Hooftstraat, with Celine
On 1 August 2026 we went to Amsterdam with Celine: a day on the PC Hooftstraat, lunch on a terrace and a cocktail at House of Bols. We went by car, and for Leonie the day was a surprise. At Louis Vuitton she received a gift from her partner: the dachshund bag charm. A dachshund mom with a dachshund on her bag. Celine came into the shop with us, and even sat on a chair among the handbags.

Shopping with a dachshund.
The PC Hooftstraat works well with a small dog: wide pavements, and Celine was welcome in the shops we visited. Do ask when you walk in. She walked part of the way on the cobbles and was carried in.
In the Louis Vuitton store Celine was carried in. She sat for a moment on an orange chair and, on the lead, on a table next to two handbags. The gold charm with pearls, in the shape of a dachshund, hung from her collar for a moment in the store.

Lunch on the terrace.
After shopping we had lunch at Brasserie Keyzer, on Van Baerlestraat, close to the Concertgebouw and the Museumplein. We sat on the terrace and Celine sat at the table with us. We ate shrimp and cheese croquettes, with a beer and a soft drink for Leonie.

Then we went to House of Bols Cocktail & Genever Experience on Paulus Potterstraat, opposite the Museumplein. Celine was allowed inside here too. We had a lovely cocktail there.

Practical: Amsterdam with a dachshund.
The three stops of our day are close together, in Amsterdam-Zuid around the Museumplein: the PC Hooftstraat, Brasserie Keyzer on Van Baerlestraat and House of Bols on Paulus Potterstraat. We went by car.
- In the shops Celine was carried in. Outside she walked on the lead over the cobbles.
- Ask at every shop, restaurant and bar whether your dog is allowed. Rules differ per venue and can change.
- On the terrace of Brasserie Keyzer, Celine sat at the table with us.
- Celine was allowed into House of Bols when we were there. Check the current rules on the website beforehand.
